PT KBI Promotes Synergy in Commodity Auction Markets with KPBN, Initial Auction of 20 Tons of Coffee Runs Successfully

Jakarta, 21 October 2025 - PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia (“PT KBI”), part of Holding BUMN Danareksa, has taken a significant step in strengthening the national commodity trading ecosystem through synergy with PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara ("KPBN"), a subsidiary of PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero). In this collaboration, PT KBI acts as a strategic partner, providing clearing and guarantee services for transaction settlements at the Commodity Auction Market ("PLK"), a digital system (live bidding) operated by KPBN.

This synergy momentum was marked by the successful inaugural auction on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, for a total volume of 20 tons of robusta green bean coffee. The auction took place digitally through the KPBN's live bidding system, which is routinely held every Tuesday and Thursday, and received a positive response from commodity business players. Throughout its implementation, PT KBI ensured that all transactions were settled transparently, smoothly, and securely.

The President Director of PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia, Budi Susanto, stated that the success of this inaugural auction is clear evidence of the effectiveness of synergy in promoting a modern and efficient commodity trading system. "Through our collaboration with the KPBN, we strive to create a more transparent, integrated, efficient, and competitive commodity trading system. The success of this inaugural auction of 20 tons of robusta coffee demonstrates that a jointly developed digital ecosystem can operate effectively, efficiently, reliably, and provide direct benefits to national commodity businesses," said Budi.

He added that PT KBI, through its role as the Commodity Clearing House and Warehouse Receipt Registration Center (Pusreg), is committed to continuously strengthening the role of technology in clearing services, transaction settlement guarantees, and warehouse receipt registration.
"We ensure that every transaction in the auction market is secure and completed in accordance with regulations. Going forward, we want to build closer connectivity between the warehouse receipt system and the commodity auction market, so that documents containing commodities stored in warehouses and that have passed quality tests can be directly connected to the broader auction market," he added.

The collaboration between PT KBI and KPBN in strengthening the commodity auction market also aligns with the government's Asta Cita policy direction, particularly in promoting inclusive and sustainable economic transformation, strengthening food security and the downstreaming of the agricultural sector, and accelerating the digitalization of the national trading system. Through support and coordination with the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti), this initiative demonstrates the role of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in supporting the agenda of value-added economic development and national independence.
