PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia (PT KBI) a pioneer and the first State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) entrusted to serve as the Registration Center for the Warehouse Receipt System (SRG) accompanied the Head of the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (BAPPEBTI) during the launch of a coffee export shipment from the KAI-ASLI SRG Warehouse in Gedebage, Bandung, to China and Morocco.
This event marks a significant milestone demonstrating the successful utilization of the Warehouse Receipt System (SRG) in enhancing the value-added of national commodities while expanding access to export markets. As the pioneer of the SRG Registration Center in Indonesia, PT KBI has played a pivotal role in establishing a governance framework for the SRG that is secure, transparent, accountable, and trustworthy; this has bolstered the confidence of business players, financial institutions, and trading partners regarding commodities managed under the SRG scheme.
For this inaugural export, the shipment volume totaled 38.4 tons equivalent to two containers with a total export value of USD 227,443.20. The shipment comprised one container of Grade 2 Robusta coffee (19.2 tons valued at USD 71,040) bound for Morocco and one container of Semi-Washed Arabica coffee (19.2 tons valued at USD 156,403.20) bound for China.
Following this initial export, the SRG warehouse operator has scheduled a subsequent shipment of eight containers of Semi-Washed Arabica coffee totaling 153.6 tons with a value of USD 1,251,225.60 to China. All of these premium coffee commodities originated from the KAI-ASLI SRG Warehouse in Gedebage, Bandung. This success demonstrates that commodities managed through the Warehouse Receipt System not only maintain their quality during storage but also meet international trade standards, thereby achieving high competitiveness in the global market. It further underscores the role of the system, which has evolved beyond a mere financing instrument into a vital component of the supply chain for Indonesian commodity trade and exports.
Budi Susanto, President Director of PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia, stated that this successful export demonstrates the increasingly strategic role of the Warehouse Receipt System (SRG) in enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesian commodities in the global market. "This export launch proves that the SRG serves not only as a financing instrument for farmers and business players but also as a bridge connecting national commodities to international markets. As the pioneer of the SRG Registration Center in Indonesia, PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia will continue to strengthen governance, service digitalization, and collaboration with all stakeholders to expand SRG utilization and deliver sustainable economic benefits," said Budi.
As the first state-owned enterprise (BUMN) to operate the SRG Registration Center, PT KBI remains committed to strengthening the SRG ecosystem by ensuring a registration process that is secure, transparent, and accountable. The successful export of coffee to China and Morocco is expected to further boost international market confidence in the quality of Indonesian commodities, while simultaneously expanding export opportunities and access to financing for farmers, cooperatives, MSMEs, and national business players.
