PT KBI Appointed by BI as a PUVA Clearing Institution

PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia (PT KBI), a member of the Danareksa State-Owned Enterprise Holding, officially made history as the only State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) to receive a strategic mandate from Bank Indonesia (BI) to become a Money Market and Foreign Exchange Market Derivative Clearing and Guarantee Institution (PUVA).

This appointment represents a strategic milestone, as PUVA Derivatives are part of the Commodity Futures Trading (PBK) business line managed by PT KBI. With a business license through BI Letter No. 28/189/DPPK/Srt/B dated January 28, 2026, PT KBI strengthens its role in maintaining the stability of the national financial market infrastructure.

PT KBI President Director, Budi Susanto, stated that this mandate represents a significant responsibility to create a safer financial ecosystem.

As a PUVA Clearing Institution, PT KBI is ready to be at the forefront of mitigating transaction risks in the money and foreign exchange markets," said Budi.

PT KBI has been declared to have met the strict standards set out in Bank Indonesia Regulation (PBI) No. 6 of 2024 and Regulation of the Members of the Board of Governors of Bank Indonesia (PADG BI) No. 26 of 2025. As a concrete step, PT KBI, together with the Jakarta Futures Exchange (JFX), the first and largest exchange in Indonesia, has adjusted to several factors, such as regulating PUVA derivative transactions, which are divided into three types of transactions: PUVA Derivative Transactions transacted on the PUVA Derivative Exchange, PUVA Derivative Transactions transacted on the SPA, and PUVA Derivative Transactions transacted through the PALN mechanism.

This step ensures that every transaction has legal certainty and maximum protection for market participants. In addition, PT KBI has commenced its operational reporting obligations to Bank Indonesia, effective February 2, 2026.

PT KBI's over 40 years of experience as a clearing and guarantee institution provides a strong foundation for accelerating the vision of the 2030 Money Market Deepening Blueprint (BPPU 2030). In line with this framework, the development of PUVA derivatives at PT KBI will focus on infrastructure that meets international standards (3I) (Interconnection, Interoperability, and Integration).

As an infrastructure provider, PT KBI focuses on the secure and transparent settlement of PUVA derivative transactions. Supported by comprehensive risk management, PT KBI not only follows market movements but also serves as an effective risk mitigation tool. This strategic step aligns with Bank Indonesia's roadmap for developing PUVA derivative instruments in Indonesia.

Through this appointment, PT KBI reaffirms its position as more than just a clearing institution, but also a vital pillar of Indonesia's financial infrastructure, maintaining the stability of the national financial system amidst global economic dynamics.
