To Promote Food Self-Sufficiency, KBI Strengthens Warehouse Receipt System

PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia ("PT KBI"), a member of the state-owned holding company Danareksa, continues to strengthen its role in supporting national food self-sufficiency by strengthening the utilization of the Warehouse Receipt System ("SRG"). Ahead of the 2026 harvest season, PT KBI aims to disseminate the IsWare Next Gen Warehouse Receipt Registration System to more than 160 institutions and organizations as part of the company's commitment to carrying out its mandate as a pioneering Warehouse Receipt Registration Center ("PusReg RG").

This effort also aligns with the company's annual program, Ramadan Bergerak, which this year carries the theme "Guarding the Trust, Flowing Blessings." Through this theme, PT KBI emphasizes that maintaining the trust is not only realized through social activities during Ramadan, but also through improving the quality of services and strengthening systems that provide tangible benefits to the community, particularly those in the commodity and food sectors.

As the Warehouse Receipt Registration Center, PT KBI continuously promotes IsWare Next Gen to ensure a transparent, secure, and accountable warehouse receipt registration process. This outreach becomes increasingly relevant as the harvest season approaches, when the availability of storage facilities and orderly commodity recording can help farmers manage their harvests more optimally.

The period from March to April 2026 is expected to be the peak rice harvest season in several regions of Indonesia. Based on projections by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), potential unhusked rice production is estimated to reach 17.65 million tons of Dry Milled Grain (GKG), equivalent to approximately 10.16 million tons of rice. This positive production trend is driven by an increase in planted area, with harvests concentrated in Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi, and Kalimantan.

In a harvest season that is generally accompanied by a downward trend in grain prices, the existence of WRGm provides an alternative solution for farmers to delay sales until prices stabilize. Through the system managed by PT KBI, commodities stored in warehouses can be officially recorded, allowing them to be used as a financing instrument while helping to maintain stable food commodity supplies.

Since its development, IsWare Next Gen has benefited 10 commodity-producing regions in Indonesia, including Aceh, Bengkulu, Lampung, West Java, East Java, South Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara, and South Sulawesi. Beneficiaries include farmers, smallholder farmers, fishermen, business owners, and warehouse managers.

As of February 2026, PT KBI recorded a total of 502 tons of commodities, in line with preparations for the peak harvest season, which is expected to occur in March–April 2026.

PT KBI's Director of Business Development and Operations, Saidu Solihin, stated that strengthening IsWare Next Gen's socialization is part of the company's efforts to improve services and expand the benefits of WRS for the community.

"Through the Ramadan Bergerak program, we want to demonstrate that maintaining trust is not only realized through operational performance, but also through improved services and education for stakeholders. The socialization of IsWare Next Gen is part of PT KBI's efforts to ensure that the warehouse receipt registration system can be optimally utilized by the community," he said.

In addition to outreach activities, PT KBI is also running a series of Ramadan Bergerak 2026 programs through Ramadan content collaboration with Cariustadz.id and sharing takjil (snacks) with the community around the Danareksa Tower as a manifestation of the company's social responsibility.

PT KBI and the State-Owned Enterprise Holding Company Danareksa will also participate in the Mudik Bersama BUMN (Homecoming with State-Owned Enterprises) program, scheduled for March 17, 2026. Fourteen buses will be dispatched to help people celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families in their hometowns with a safe and comfortable journey.
