PT KPBI Receives BAPPEBTI Permit to Become Warehouse Manager

PT Kliring Perdagangan Berjangka Indonesia (PT KPBI), a subsidiary of PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia (PT KBI), has been officially designated by the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (BAPPEBTI) as a Warehouse Receipt System (SRG) Warehouse Manager.

This designation is a strategic step that strengthens PT KPBI's role in developing the national commodity trading ecosystem, particularly in providing standardized storage facilities that support the issuance of warehouse receipts for producers and business players.

PT KPBI's President Director, Fajar Hari Utomo, emphasized that the status as a warehouse manager will be a crucial momentum for PT KPBI to expand its contribution to the SRG ecosystem.

According to him, by obtaining a permit as an SRG warehouse manager, KPBI not only provides storage facilities that meet national standards but also strengthens its position as an aggregator of the warehouse receipt ecosystem.

"Going forward, KPBI can offer integrated services that support the needs of commodity producers, enabling us to act as a one-stop shop for producers and businesses. Initially, KPBI will operate warehouses for rice and coffee, two strategic commodities that significantly contribute to the national supply chain," Fajar said in a press release quoted in Jakarta on Sunday (November 30, 2025).

This determination is outlined in the Decree of the Head of BAPPEBTI Number 41/BAPPEBTI/Kep-SRG/PG/11/2025 concerning the Granting of Approval as a Warehouse Manager in the Warehouse Receipt System to PT KPBI, ​​issued on November 26, 2025.

This trust reflects PT KPBI's readiness to take a central role in standardized commodity storage and support the smooth issuance of warehouse receipts for commodity producers and businesses.

In carrying out its new function, PT KPBI will operate warehouse management services utilizing the Is-Ware application, a blockchain-based SRG platform developed by PT KBI. The implementation of this technology will improve the reliability of stock recording, accelerate the warehouse receipt registration process, and expand access to warehouse receipt-based financing for commodity producers.

Head of the Bureau of WRS Development and Development and PLK BAPPEBTI, Heryono Hadi Prasetyo, commended PT KPBI's readiness to meet all requirements as a warehouse manager. "PT KPBI demonstrates a strong commitment to developing warehouse management services that comply with regulations and are oriented towards improving the quality of the WRS ecosystem. We hope KPBI can become a benchmark for other warehouse managers, particularly in maintaining data integrity, commodity security, and service accuracy," he said.

As of October 2025, the WRS ecosystem continues to record positive growth. PT KBI, as the Warehouse Receipt Registration Center (PUSREG), has registered 497 warehouse receipts with a total commodity volume of 89,000 tons. The increasing number of certified warehouse managers, including PT KPBI, ​​has expanded the reach of storage services and accelerated the warehouse receipt registration process in various regions.

PT KPBI also opens opportunities to serve other WRS commodities according to evolving market needs. This determination serves as an important stepping stone for KPBI to contribute more to increasing the utilization of WRS, while also supporting national food security through more modern, efficient, and standardized commodity management.
